U.S. Military Is Developing ?Scale Model? Of The Internet - Military plans to practice "cyber warfare" using their new system

Military Internet

The United States armed forces are currently spending millions of dollars to create a ?scale model? of the internet. The new platform, meant to mimic the real internet will be used to develop better ?cyber warfare? skills.

The Defense Advance Research Projects Agency is overseeing the National Cyber Range project which is meant to allow for simulated online attacks by foreign powers and hackers.

The platform is being developed by Lockheed Martin in participation with Johns Hopkins University.

As attacks occur military personnel will have the ability to ?reset? the internet and repeat attacks as needed, providing for an excellent training tool. The program will also help experiments be completed ?in days? instead of ?weeks? according to military personnel.

In May the Pentagon said ?Cyber Attacks? could be treated as an act of war, it looks like we may have a lot of little ?mini wars? starting soon.
