A man found guilty of stealing a rare Harry Potter book has been sentenced to six weeks behind bars.
Kevin McGirr was charged with taking the limited edition of Harry Potter and The Philosopher's Stone, which was valued at almost $9,000 (?6,000), from a special display box at the Creative Art Gallery in Woodstock, Oxfordshire last October.
He appeared at Banbury Magistrates' Court on Monday and pleaded guilty. The judge handed him a six-week prison term. McGirr was also ordered to pay $400 (?250) in compensation and $640 (?400) legal costs.
