Jobs help for young Islanders

A FREE course for unemployed young people is being delivered by two Isle of Wight charities.

For 12 weeks, a course by UKSA, Cowes, and YMCA, Shanklin, will look at the Prince?s Trust TEAM programme for people on the Island, aged 16 to 25.

The aim of the course is to give them a better chance of moving into employment, education or training and also gives an opportunity for participants to use their skills and gain new ones, while acquiring a nationally recognised qualification.

Participants will also be able to enjoy a five-day multi-activity residential course at UKSA and two weeks? work experience within the community.

The programme is also available for young employees who would like the chance to develop new interpersonal skills to help improve long-term career prospects.

A selection day will take place on Thursday, January 17, at UKSA.

??For more information, contact Lee Jones at UKSA, on 01983 294941, or e-mail lee.jones@uksa.org.
