Included with this impeccable provenance is a detailed letter from John Moaney, Eisenhower's once top valet and trusted friend, presenting this important watch to the aforementioned private collector.

Worn by President Eisenhower almost daily throughout his 1953-1960 tenure as Commander in Chief at the White House, it was actually presented to him while the NATO Commander in 1950. This 100,000th issue had been previously presented to the aforementioned Winston Churchill. Along with the importance of certain recipients, the manufacturer obviously considered their own manufacturing milestones to be of great significance.

The Five-Stars and all hand-engraving was accomplished after consultation with General Eisenhower. The engraving was done by a highly skilled Artist, in Switzerland. This was just prior to the presentation of the time-piece to General Eisenhower, on December 19, 1950.

The General wore this watch from the time of its 1950 Presentation until his death in 1969. Before his death, President Eisenhower saw to it that it was given to his longtime aide, valet, and friend, Sgt. John Moaney. In Eisenhower's book, At Ease - Stories I Tell To Friends, Eisenhower describes Moaney as a man who was indispensable to him during his lifetime. Ike and Moaney were with each other daily for 27 consecutive years.
