On a trip to Home Depot, I encountered no less than five dogs, only one of which was a service dog. That was just in the garden section.
I expected to find a sign that said, ?No admittance unless accompanied by a dog,? but alas there wasn?t one. When did it become a necessity to take your dog to a home improvement store?
Am I the only person who feels that this is ridiculous? Doesn?t anyone see that this is a liability suit looking for a store? What about people who have allergies to animals?
What about a dog that, for whatever reason, decides to bite someone? What about people with heavy, unwieldy carts loaded with heavy items such as lumber or stone, trying to maneuver around people, and now having to maneuver around dogs, too?
A while ago, I was near a person who had two Yorkies. For some reason the two dogs took to having a barking contest. When I suggested to the owner that the dogs didn?t belong in the store, her reply was, ?Well, I can?t leave them in the car.?
OK, here?s a radical thought ? leave them at home.
I?ve been in Petsmart and didn?t see as many dogs in there as I have seen in Home Depot and Lowes. When will this madness end? When someone brings their pet monkey, or maybe a boa constrictor to the store? What?s next, animals milling about in our local restaurants?
Let?s get a grip on reality here.
